    Default Display of Multiple Downloads

Is there anyway to not have all the attributes showing for multiple downloads? I find this somewhat confusing when you have 1 product with anywhere between 5 and 20 downloads per product.

I've uploaded 2 images, in the first one, it shows the zip files to download already checked. (I believe some people will uncheck them not realizing they need to stay checked) and so am wondering if it's possible to have a 1 line download such as image 2 shows. (image 2 was created as an example)

Is there anyway possible to do this so that people won't get confused with the purchase of these products?

    Not at this time ...

Right now, you need a 1 attribute per 1 download ...

I usually recommend radiobuttons defaulted or dropdowns as 1 option value switches to a selected radiobutton and that way the customer cannot uncheck or unselect or forget to select the download(s) for the product ...

Awww, that's a good idea, while I'm not overly fond of radio buttons in general, and do not like the idea of the pull down (cause someone will undoubtedly try to select 1 thing) I will switch them to radio buttons. Thanks Ajeh,

I don't like the dropdown either for that reason I made single option dropdowns switch magically to selected radiobuttons ... only if you have multiple option values will it magically switch back to a dropdown display ...

ok, I get what your saying Ajeh, with just using the radio button, it only allows one to be selected, so using your trick with the dropdown allows for all to be selected as well. Thank you again,

Is there a way to have all items on a dropdown be automatically selected?

When you setup the individual Downloads you need to make 1 Option Name with 1 Option Value for each Download ...

There are examples of this in the tutorials/FAQs ... amazing place to discover help as is the Wiki and the forum itself ...

    A search on:
    download

can be very information ... such as:

Aha!!! NOW I get it. I read that before and just found it to be confusing overall.

Now, I am understanding what it is saying.

Next question --- I have something like 145 items (16 pages) in my list of Option Values. Is there any easy way to replicate that list for each Option Name?

I will need something like 7 or 8 Option Names (i.e. Download 1 thru Download 8) because some of our PDF value packs contain that many PDFs.

Any suggestions? Or am I going to have enter all 145 option values by hand for each of the Option Names I create?

    Got!!!!

I finished reading the rest of the link you sent.

I amy be a little slow sometimes, but I eventually get there.

Okay, I created Option Names (Download 1 - Download 10).
I then Created a SINGLE Option Value for each Option Name (called PDF -- I may do a second called ZIP for zipped files)!!

For some reason I had been under the impression that the Option Value HAD to be the same as the file name.

Cool! and I tested it and it worked great! So now all I have to do is to go update 145 products... hehehe
