red flag How to easily add more images?

I've been looking through the forums and it looks like one of the most common questions is how to add multiple images to a product listing. I'm surprised it isn't already built into Zen Cart since most people would want that option by default.

So far, I haven't been able to find any really easy fixes. The most common answer I see is "Go here: https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=58"

That solution makes sense, but it just isn't going to be a realistic one for this particular case. The person using the store has no idea how to use FTP and all the image rules will only further confuse them.

Isn't there just a simple plug-in or add-on that I can install, which will give an option to add multiple images? There are so many programmers out there using ZenCart, surely someone has built a quick and easy program.

Please help! Hopefully someone can point me to the end-all, be-all image manager for ZenCart.

    Thanks!

    I found this comment

"Some of my products have front and back pictures.
How can I add additional images for the same products?"

"Do you have image handler mod installed? If yes, it is easy:
There is an I in purple in the product listing all the way to the right (in the admin). You click it and add another picture. That's it.
If you don't have it, get it. Best friend out there for handling your pictures in the easiest way possible."

Well I have not tried that module, but maybe that is your solution.

One method to adding multiple images to a product via the Admin is if you had 3 images and then the real image:
    image_01.jpg
    image_02.jpg
    image_03.jpg
    image.jpg

Is add the first 3 images as if they were the main image first ... then add the last image ...

Browse ... pick image image_01.jpg and the directory to load it to ... click Preview ... click Back ... repeat

What this does is load the 3 images to the server from your computer ... but then loading the real image last makes it the final image that is actually saved to the database ...

NOTE: this unfortunately does not manage the large and medium images for you ...

We will be looking into this for a future release ...

    Default Multiple Images per Product

I've been playing all day with attempting to add multiple images per product so I can show front/back/side and so on.

    Posted above is somewhat accurate.

    1) Download and install Image Handler 2 - READ THE README FILE, when you follow the instructions, it works awesome!

    2) With IH2 installed and configured:
    Click Tools/Image Handler 2
Select the product you wish to modify
Under ''ACTION'', click the Info icon
When IMAGE INFORMATION opens to the right, click NEW FILE
Browse for the file you want to add and select it
Click Save and viola! Added image!

I looked right past this several times because I was afraid that clicking "New File" would overwrite my original image. Happily, that's not the case! There's an option there to add your own suffix - I left it blank and IH2 uses the prodname_nn format.
I have thus far added two images to the original and they are placed at the bottom of the product details page. I'd like to mod the code to bring them closer to the primary image - if anyone happens to beat me to it, please let me know.

Hope this helps those that are semi-bald (like me!) from pulling our hairs out!

I went to the movies before looking at this, but here it is!
WARNING: This is my FIRST "official" coding change in zen so, use it at your own risk - but it really wasn't a huge thing and I have 20+ yrs coding exp. from the dinosaur punchcard days thru every lang (asp, .net, java, jsp, beans, javascript, dhtml, xml, blah blah blah) *BUT* php - to which i'm new.

That disclaimer having been said. Upload the attached to your
.../includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/ directory. It is an override of tpl_product_info_display.php

...how do I attach it? well, if someone can school me on using the forum correctly, I'll gladly share!
