For some reason I cannot figure out how to display the model number in the product info. I must have disabled it along the way and now I don't see the option to turn it back on. Could someone point me in the correct direction.

Go to Admin > Catalog > Product Types then choose your product type and click on Edit Layout - You'll find the switch you want at the very top of the page.
