    Default Register log in email error

    Hi,

    I've just installed the most recent ZenCart version. Everything is perfect except for one thing.

    When a customer registers, the following error message comes up after you hit submit:

    Email Error: Could not instantiate mail function.


    The customer account is still created however.

    Can anyone please tell me how to fix this.

    I am also getting the same error when a new customer is created.
    The same error also appears if i try to send mail through the admin panel tools>send email

    can anyone help?

    I ended up changing the email address to one that was linked directly to the same web domain. Works fine now.

    Hi,

    I had the same error and was searching for help for hours. Now I finally figured it, I think. No error anymore while creating new account, goes re-directed nicely to the account info (address) page.

    This setting in admin was "false", needs to be "true". This kind of setting was never touched in the set up of the other version, thus it was hurt to find out what was the reason. I report this here, in case it would help somebody.

    E-Mail Friendly-Errors true
    This kind of setting was never touched in the set up of the other version, thus it was hard to find out what was the reason. I report this here, in case it would help somebody. Hope to fix the Sendmail to customers as well.

    Ok, looks like that the "Send Email to Customers" gets fixed by setting this in Email Options as well:

    Emails must send from known domain? No

    Default is "Yes", I changed it as "No" and seems fine now on my site.
    I may be blond but at least I found Zen.
