    Default Copying Attributes to Products/Categories

I'm still playing...but very close to letting this thing go live.

All my Products have the same attributes (with pricing).
I have two products currently loaded and working.
I have 15 categories that my customer will be adding products to. So, I have some categories without products at present.

Can I copy the attributes to the category if I have no products... with the intention that new products will inherit the attributes.

Ok I thinking, I might need to add one product (Base Test product) to each category.

Still my bigger question is .. will new products inherit the attributes or do I have to "Re-copy" the attributes to the category as I add new products.

Looks like it does not - have to copy after products have been created.

Sorry ... there are no heirs to Zen Cart so nothing gets inherited ...

You can, however, copy Attributes from 1 Product to another Product or Category of Products and either Update or Delete then Add the Attributes ...

Not sure what you are after Grey One..
But yes (unless I read you differrently) the product attributes can be entered in the Customer's Product page at time of order.

My thread and my follow-up question
I've just updated new prices for 2008 on one product's attributes (approx 80 individual attributes). I now need to copy this product's attributes to all my other products. (note: All products are priced by the same attributes)

Can I copy to this product attributes to "ALL" categories in one move or to multiple categories.

The drop-down window showing my 100 categories does not allow CTRL to select multple categories.

It is taking about 40-60 seconds to select "copy to category", then wait for the category selection box to generate, then make category selection from a list that only shows 5 entries at a time, then hit copy, then wait for the update for one category at a time and then do it again for the 99 more. (must be an easier way).

    Can you suggest an alternative.

Sorry GreyOne - Rethinking your request... your question was one of creating products and their attributes all at the same time....doesn't look like you can define / assign specific attributes at the time you are creating the products. You need to access the Attributes controller and assign after products have been created.
