Modifying a shipping option

Using the developers toolkit I was able to modify the description of the 'flat rate' to 'expedited shipping (orders over $30 only)'... but I am now running in to a problem with customers selecting this as the shipping method for orders under $30.

Is there a line of code that would disable the 'flat rate' shipping option if the total cart value is under a certain dollar value.

I know this is odd, but our store offers free shipping on orders over $30 and we like to offer the option of having a faster shipping method for a fee.

Any assistance is appreciated

You need to control when the $this->enabled is true or false on the shipping module ...

When true, it shows ... when false, it does not show ...

thanks this is what I ended up adding and it seems to work ... I had to have a friend who knew a little more about PHP than me help me with it.
