Column Grid Display with MultiSite Mod

Is it possible to set the column display when using multisite. Each site has it's own template and I've added the required files for each template for this mod, but although the grid display works, the product_listing.php is drawing ALL products as opposed to only those associated with that store.

If i remove the module>my template>product_listing.php, the correct products are displayed, but no grid
