How to avoid missing my new modification ? + rtl problem !

I don’t now if this subject has been discussed before or not, but I red here that we shouldn’t make the modification on the original files, because those modification could be lost as soon as we upgrade our Zencart ! so, what to do! Should I create another directory for the English language to be active and leave the original as it is ? please I need your help because I have already 3 languages for my site and adding more directories will definitely effect on uploading of my website. That’s one, second I added the Arabic language to my Zencart, the problem is how to flip the poxes around and also the text should be from right to left in all pages, so my question is how to do that , I appreciate your help in advance.

You should create custom directories ("/your_template/") for your specific site text in /english/, and also in /arabic/ etc.

It is possible to have different stylesheets for all pages based on language, so at least some of your modification can be done there. I don't know if you can switch the sideboxes from one side to the other according to language.

The rtl text issue is not so much Zen Cart specific as a general CSS and font display matter. Some CSS properties automatically reverse based on the language, and some formatting can be switched in the language stylesheet. I believe the method would be to name it arabic_stylesheet.css so that it is automatically used where appropriate. Look in the FAQs for some discussion of this.
