Default Paypal orders not showing up in Admin - customers not clicking back to store

I'm on version 1.4.7 and have the latest Paypal patch installed but I've had quite a few orders come through recently that haven't been generating properly.

I get a notification that I have received funds but no order in the store & when I log in to the customer's account using the Master Password there isn't anything showing in their cart or their order history.

I believe it is happening when they have finalised their payment through Paypal but then aren't clicking back through to the store.

How can I fix this as it's very embarressing having to ask the customers what they have ordered.

Use the "View Stuck PayPal Orders" module, available in the download section. Took care of the difficulty for me.

    Good luck,

Ah i just made a post (probably in the wrong forum!) about the same thing. Thanks for the suggestion rush_woman I'll try that my self.

So is that the reason the transactions won't show up? I thought it was a automatic re-direct.

It's only started happening to me since Wednesday. After about 6 months of being online problem free.

Just a thought, but have you checked your PayPal profile to see if your Instant Payment Notification might have been turned off?

It usually happens on e-check payments. Everything else for me works okay but the e-checks. There are some patches for this issue though I still couldn't get it to work (I probably missed something in the patch instructions).

Also, the new version of ZC which just came out probably has "fixes" for this in it. I will upgrade after the holiday shopping season.

    Kind regards,
    Cheryl

No its definitely on. I've gone through all my paypal settings which seem to be ok. I also think i've only had the problem with people logging into their paypal account. I tested it out via another paypal account and same thing, it hasn't shown up.

Also i installed the paypal stuck orders but that gave me errors so unfortunately i've had to close my shop for the time being. Right in the holiday season! I really am unsure what to do next despite reading through the other threads with the same problem and trying the solutions.

Unless PayPal is your main/only payment method, you don't have to close your shop. Just turn the PayPal module off for now so it doesn't show up as an option on checkout.

I installed PayPal module without a hitch. Check to be sure you have version 2.0 on it.

there is also a de-bug option on the PayPal module. Maybe turn it on, send a payment through, and see what the de-bug log shows. Post it on the forum (minus identification stuff) and someone will help.

    I'm having the same problem.

I've installed the "View Stuck PayPal Orders" module and it is working but coming back to me with numbers that make no sense.
    example:

The parts in bold are the styles with its attributes. Once of those models should have been FC1000 with a color of black and a size of X-Large but instead returns lines of numbers that make no sense to me. If I could decipher the "code" it wouldn't bother me at all.

This problem seems to be the last problem I have to deal with. I'm a noob at this "shopping cart stuff" so I guess it is taking me a little longer to "get it".

In case anyone needs to look at the site it is www.everythingembellished.com.

I hope my example helps figure this out for everyone with the same problem.

The numbers there, are the PRODUCT number. Each product gets a number when it is added. Go into the Categories/Product area. The very first character is a number under "ID". That is the number that shows up in the viewer, rather than the product name. I'll have to check the attributes but I suspect those also use a number.

As a non-techie, if I understand the viewer correctly, it is pulling the info straight out of the database. If you feel comfortably navigating in the database, I think you could get the info you need from the database, too.

If my understanding here is incorrect, someone will come along and clarify it for us.

Thank very much for the quick reply but the ID is:
    ID# 12 Crystal Zipper Fleece

    I've never been so confused
