Default Re: How to set up e-mail test group?

Well, I guess I have made a mess. I was trying to run the script again because this is the error I got when I tried to use the Newsletter Manager and send to my test group.

So, this is the error I need to correct. Gosh, I am feeling high maintenance today.

1054 Unknown column 'NewsletterTest' in 'where clause'
    in:
    [select customers_email_address, customers_lastname, customers_firstname from zen_customers WHERE customers_group_pricing = NewsletterTest ]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

    Thanks again!

Why did you replace the \'2\' with \'NewsletterTest\' ?

You're making it way harder than you need to.

Undo what you did (delete the extra record you added), and just run the query from the referred post.

DrByte, you're giving me way too much credit. I replaced 2 with NewsletterTest when I was just doing a bunch of stuff and didn't know what I was doing. I didn't know that I really could run the query exactly as written because my test group actually is 2.

I have no idea how to delete that column.

Obviously, as this post has demonstrated and taken up way too much of your time, I need clear step-by-step instructions written for a 2 year-old.

Is there any possibility that you could give me instructions on how to delete that column and return myself to semi-sanity?

Thanks again for all your help!

    YAY! It worked!

DrByte, thank you so much for your patience with me!

Also, just wanted to mention that as I was just trying to figure out why my html was not showing up in my test e-mail (I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually!), I came upon another way to set up the Newsletter Test Group!

Admin > Configuration > E-mail Option > Newsletter Test Group E-mail (very last setting)
You just enter the e-mails in there! Who knew?

    All the best to you!

That's part of an addon contribution you're using, and not part of the default Zen Cart install.
