Text Box Attributes

Hi,

I hope that somebody can help.

I need to be able to display a text attribute so that it appears as a multiline text box and not just a single scrollable text field.

Does anybody know how I might go about doing this please ?

I would go find the Option Name in the Option Name Manager and hit the EDIT button for additional settings ... and then set the number of ROWS that you want and the MAXIMUM number of characters the customer may use ...

Actually we try to hide these things as best we can and mess with your minds ...

The goal is to make them appear obvious once you find them so you wind up feeling like a total dork and we get a good chuckle for the day ...

Or you can think of it as ... that is a heck of an Admin with lots and lots of stuff and you just never know what you might find behind door number three ...

Hi Linda I have been a long time fan of your old cart and have used it for quite awhile the Shoppe Enhancement Controller one that is. I have a question though this zen cart wont let you edit the attributes admin side. In other words if customer orders something with text and mis spells it you cant edit it unless you go into the database in orders_products_attributes and manually edit it. I guess this is a small set back but this was a nice feature of SEC. Is there a way to Mod this without breaking something.

We are working to develop Zen Cart further and further with more features and ease of use with each release ...

Editing orders is on the list of fun things to do ... just not there yet ...

There are add-ons, but I am not sure off hand how flexible they are with attributes either on the orders ...

Yes unfortunately the super edit has everything but this one little option that probably is being overlooked because it is not the type of thing like you say that would be all that important but kind of like air conditioning in a car when it is hot it sure comes in handy
Like I said earlier though this was an option in your old SEC and it was nice because people often mis spell the text in the text attribute and it seems like it might be a pain to go in and edit this every time but I do got to say this cart seems to be a lot less buggy then the old SEC but that is probably me more than anything adding mods to it and screwing it up :) Thanks for the reply to and again thank you for all your hard work. I have read quite a few of your posts over the past 4 or 5 years and never actually posted and I just wanted to thank you. I am more of a reader.

Plus the fact that Zen Cart is a lot cleaner code than SEC and has all of the old bugs that were inherited from oSC cleaned out of it and most of Zen Cart has been so re-written and does so much more ...

Glad to see you making the move over to Zen Cart ... you will be happy that you did ...

How do you make a text box attribute appear last? I have a product where you need to select cake, icing, filling & then I want them to be able to customize the cake with an inscription. I have the attributes order number set to 150 so it should show up last but it's showing up first. My other attributes are set a 0, 10, 20 - 60 so in my mind 150 should be last.

The Option Names also have a Sort Order for the Display on the Product _info page ...
