    email error Confirmation Email Sends, Order Notification To Owner Doesn't

    Hi,

    I hope this is where I can post this question. I am running ZC on a Win2003 server using SMPT for mailing.

    Each order sends the customer a confirmation just fine, but the store owner never gets any notification of the sale, which means he can't put the cc number together to process the charge. Most everything else is running ok.

    I've tried sending copies of confirmations to the owner and those go through just fine as well as create account emails etc. He recieves any copies of the other emails.

    It just doesn't send the notification of the sale. The email address is correct in the database and every other place it appears. Does anyone know which module, code or any other thing controls this so I can at least look further into it. Or even better, if someone has had this same problem, can you help me out with a solution? I'd really appreciate the help

    1. Try using SMTPAUTH instead of just SMTP ... and supply the account password.

    3. If there is no error during completion of the transaction, then there was no error in getting the email to the mailserver ... ie: Zen Cart successfully handed the message over to the mailserver to let it do delivery. Subsequent failure is a result of failure between the mailserver and the recipient mailbox. This could be caused by blacklisting, bad email configuration, and a collection of other issues ... some are addressed in the above FAQ.

    Hey DrByte,

    Thanks for your reply. I appreciate all the help I can get.

    Unfortunately, I already used all forms of mail (php, smtpauth) etc. and all combinations there in. I've used his password with smtpauth, with smtp etc. I've turned SEND FROM KNOW DOMAINS ONLY on/off in all combo with above.

    Mail is being sent from everything including contact forms, copies of messages to customers, etc etc. The only thing not being sent out or delivered is the store owner's notification of the sale.

    Every thing else reaches his inbox. I even physically checked the field in mySQL to make sure the address was absolutely correct, even though it appeard to be in the Admin settings.

    His original email address was at yahoo, and since I couldn't see the mail logs at yahoo, I couldn't begin to trace this down.

    I set up an account at his domain ([email protected]), which I have access to the mail logs. Nothing. Nothing is being sent, except a copy of a confirmation. When I turn send copy of confirmation off, ....nothing is being sent nor received. When I send from the contact form, it also arrives and is in the logs. I am using the same server for POP as well as SMTP.

    I'm new to Zen Cart, not to the programming world. I cannot find a decent reference to the technical end of this cart. All the references I have purchased turned out to be "USER" oriented.

    I need to be pointed to the class file, module or other code that handles the mailing functions. Also is there a list of all the files Zen writes on install?

    Again, any sort of help here will be humbly appreciated and I thank you again for your previous response.
