Look in the admin under modules->payment. What's turned on (little green dot as opposed to little red dot)?

You turned what on? There are a number of payment modules available with Zen Cart. What ones are on in your store?

The credit card module allows you to process credit cards off-line. That assumes you have access to a credit card processer (machine) and can enter the credit card numbers manually. Part of the number will be stored in the database. The rest will be emailed to you. You'll have to retrieve the rest of it from the database to get the whole number. This is done for security purposes.

If you aren't going to process credit cards manually, TURN THIS OFF!

To use Paypal, you have to enter your Paypal account information so that Paypal knows who the money goes to.
