Default Any problems with Moneris Solutions on GoDaddy?

Hi, I am getting ready to sign up for a merchant account with Moneris Solutions. My hosting is on GoDaddy. I understand I will still need to use their proxy but should I expect any problems communicating with Moneris?

I know that GoDaddy closed quite a few ports which creates a problem when communicating with many gateways. For instance, we couldn't make LinkPoint work because port 1129 was closed. Am I going to run into similar issues with Moneris? Anybody was able to successfully configure and use it?

    Thanks!

Have you read all of the threads about godaddy communicating through the proxy?

I am not sure if I have read all of them but quite a few. I take it there's an answer to my question in one of them? :)
    I'll do some more searching.

The point of sending you to look at the godaddy threads was the ultimate outcome of most of the problems was to move to a decent host that was set up to handle dynamic ecommerce.

The eselect_api module uses port 43924 .... which I doubt GoDaddy will cooperate with.

As far as I know, the only one that works on GoDaddy with any degree of reliability is Authorize.net ... and even then it's at the mercy of GoDaddy's proxy servers working properly and not being overloaded.

As has been mentioned before, you'll be far better off with a host that wants to run your ecommerce business. GoDaddy just wants your money ... they don't care about your website or your business.

DrByte: Thank you DrByte, it's not the first time you are helping me.

Kim: No offense but that didn't answer my question. I wasn't asking advice on choosing hosting provider. I thought I was pretty clear with my question - "does anybody successfully use both GoDaddy and Moneris?"

I believe the point she was trying to make is ... strongly reconsider why you are using GoDaddy ... regardless of which payment gateway you have.

For example, if you've already gone through the process of being approved for LinkPoint, why throw that away just because your hosting company isn't compatible?

Further, those "who know" generally avoid GoDaddy hosting like the plague.
And those "who don't know" get bitten, waste a lot of time and money, and cut their teeth on crappy hosting, rather than getting a "real" solid usable webhosting experience where they can run a business instead of wasting time looking for workarounds.

    Anyway, rant over.
