Default Make javascript popup images scrollable?

I've got a lot of product images that are larger that most people's resolutions (some are much bigger than 1024 X 768) and when you click 'see larger image,' the popup window is the size of the screen, but the image is bigger than the window so you loose a lot of the image. You can see an example of what I mean here:

Is there any way to make the javascript popup window scrollable? I think the change would probably have to be made to this file: includes/modules/pages/popup_image/jscript_main.php, but I don't know what to change. Anyone know how to fix this?

Why not make the images smaller? Most people detest scrolling horizontally, and don't really like scrolling vertically more than necessary.

Do your customers a favour - make the large image no more than 800x600...and optimising your images correctly will help keep them on your site.

If your images are bigger than my screen, I'm gonna be pissed off, seriously. Make them smaller.

Edit: actually, you may be able to do it, when you edit your products you will see:
"Products Quantity Box Shows:" try playing with that setting, I ve never tried tho.

All of my images are taken from a distributor website (where they provide only full-size images), and since I have thousands of items in my catalog, resizing every image is not a plausible option. If you can't make the window scrollable, then is there a way to have the image resize dynamically using javascript?

Image Handler 2 module can automatically resize image for you. If you want to, you can also do it by photoshop on your own computer by using macros. There is absolutely NO need to do it manually.

To be honest, you NEED Image Handler - it takes care of the optimisation and you will no longer have 350kb thumbnails!! (They should be 1-3kb). In addition, your smaller images will be sharper than they are now.

However, that still won't address the issue of annoying the heck out of visitors when the image exceeds their screen size, and you will still need to resize them. Also, be aware that Image Handler has (switchable) max dimensions for large images and if you exceed them, you cause problems.

Resizing to a more sensible 750 x 550 will also save you a massive amount of bandwidth. Your example image is 380kb - resized and correctly optimised to 550 pixels high gives you a 22kb file size....which will load nearly 20 times faster than at present!

As yellow1912 points out, use the Batch Processing of Photoshop (or another Image Editor) - yes, it will take some time, but YOU don't have to sit and watch whilst it's processing.
