upgrading question

Hi there.... I have never had to do an upgrade. I have 1.3.7 and have been informed by my host that they will only support 1.3.8 after the 21st

I am not great at website stuff just enough to get me where I am.
You all have been great!

So my question is... I read about the upgrade is this all I need to do?

First question - why would your host worry about the version (as long as it is greater than 1.3.5) ?

Second, there is upgrading information in your Docs directory and in the tutorials/FAQ section here and many, many posts about the procedure. Yes, there is more to do than the statement you posted.

I have no idea why he is telling me I have to. My site is running fine and I would think that sometime after the holidays would be fine if this is really a must.
sighhhh I think that I will contact him on this again though.

Ok I found out it is because the are upgrading to php 5 and it wont support any lower than 1.3.7.1
I have 1.3.7
