Layout of products

Hi,

I have installed the red passion template and I am wanting to change the listing of products.

I want all of my products listed when you click through from the category link in the sidebox and I want it to have a similar layout as this site - http://www.flyjumperstore.com/home.php?cat=3

Image to the left - product name in bold to the right with info underneith. I then want the more info link (ideally a button) to be under the info.

How can I do this?

Can I do this just through the admin??

I have played about and looked through the forum but can't inf the answers.

That is almost a standard layout which you can get through admin > Configuration > Product Listing, except for the price/add bit below the description.

It will require some recoding of /includes/modules/your_template/product_listing.php.
You need to have the price block selected as active in admin, and then put the code to display it under the description output code, and hide the regular price block and its heading.

The Gallery Category mod can point the way to seamlessly hiding the regular price block. (That is part of its usual function.) You would strip out the conditional part so it always applies.

Its all squashed. How do I get rid of the price column? have the title and description stretch across and have more info below that?

What you have posted is the heading section of the code. You will be manipulating the lower section which runs through a similar switch/case block.

I haven't tested this particular code, though I know from experience that the principle works.
This should display the price and add to cart below the description. It won't remove the regular price block; that is another part of the code, which will be based on Gallery Category code.

You may be able to prune out large chunks of the price block code here, depending on how much info you want to show.

Ok, so I think I am getting there. Fiddled about a bit more and now I have the more info under the title and descriptions but I now have two titles and descriptions?

Also how do I have the title and descriptions stretch across?

I'm not sure why you have the name and description duplicated - I suspect you have copied something to where it shouldn't be.
Can you post the switch section of the file as you have it? Use [php] and [/php] tags to make it display as highlighted code - infinitely easier to read than plain text.

You do have things a bit messed up... you pasted the price section into the manufacturer case instead of the name case, and it runs on into the price case (which has its "case" eliminated).

I'm still not sure how what I see there translates to what shows on the page, but I think it would be easiest to start fresh and just carefully copy the second window in my post over the name block in your file.
(Don't copy the top "switch" and "case...MODEL...break" parts.)
