Which file do i edit to change the wording on the email that is sent when someone forgets their password?
And if someone tells me they forget their their password, how do I generate and send a new one to them?

hi all,
i am having problems with zen cart password feature.
when a customer is checking out and enters his email address, the cart won't let him proceed and gives the error that email address is already in the system. but when he goes to log in and uses the forgot password function... the cart says their is no record of that email address!
it can't be both. either he should be able to checkout with that email address or he should be able to use the forgot password function with that email address...
this is a big problem. what is going on???

Did he give you the email address? Have you tried it yourself to see if you run into that problem?

now even if he purchased in the past with a different email address, same name and address, he should be able to create a new account with a new email address and same name and address.... right?
the weird thing is that it won't let him proceed because it says that email address already has an account. but when he clicks forgot password, it says there is no record of that email address.
i don't get it. this has happened twice. two different people.
Have you checked your database (via phpmyadmin) ? Does this email appears in the customers table?

In fact, you do not need to use PHPmyadmin
Go to admin->customers->customers
There is a search box on the right hand side, search for that particular email. Anything shows up?

yep... he's in there twice. same name, mailing address but different email addresses.... hmmmmm... what to do?
is there any way to manage passwords? reset them for customers and send them a new temp one?
