Is there any way of hiding expected products from the store front?

Hi,

I was wondering if there was any way that I could do all the back end admin of setting up my products, but keep them invisible from the store front until the date that I chose to launch them (which would hopefully happen automatically).

My products are digital, and I would like to be constantly creating and uploading, but only launching on a specified day.

Any help would be wonderful!!

admin/configuration/website maintenance
FIRST, you will need to add your IP address so you can
work as admin, whilst your store in maintenance mode.

misty, I think you misunderstood the question.
Anyway, yeah you can hide up-coming products, the option can be set somewhere in the admin panel, can't remember *_*

Thanks for such a quick response!
I was hoping that I could do this without going into website maintenance.

I really was hoping that I could have a list of products all 'ready to go' backend, that could happily sit there for a week or so until I decided to launch them, and that they were totally invisible to customers on the store.

I had tried putting an expected date on my product, but it then just shows on the store front as product expected and date, where I was hoping that there might be some way of doing the same kind of thing but keeping it invisible, and then Zencart would 'release' the product on the date that I specified?

Admin->Configuration->Index Listing

- change the "upcoming products" options to '0' so that it doesn't show.

Probably should do the same under Admin->Configuration->Stock as well.

Thanks, I tried this but for some strange reason the product still displayed in the store front!

I have kinda gotten round it by disabling the product once I have created it. And I will just enable it once I am ready to.

I was hoping that I would be able to do automatically as I am going on holiday in December, and would still like to release new products without having to physically to it myself!

Make sure you set the product available date correctly when you add/edit products.
