    Default Paypal

Under my the Admin>Payment Modules the Paypal Express Checkout status it says "Processing". It also says "Processing" under the status of Website Payments Pro. I have entered the API username password as well as Signature Code. I entered the ipn url into the paypal notifications page. I also enabled feature within paypal. cURL is installed on the server.

So to test the paypal web pro feature I personally checked out a product from our site and although I received a confirmation from the site, it was not charged to my credit card. I checked Paypal and it was not listed under the transaction history.

    Default Setting up Paypal

I am trying to set up Paypal Pro, and before I do I understand I need to set up Paypal express. After entering all the information and getting the APR username, password and signature code as well as entering the url into the Paypal IPN field. I am only getting a "Processing" status. Is this correct or does it turn to "Active". I am absolutely dumbfounded!!!

"Processing" has nothing to do with the state of the module. It's telling you the status that will be assigned to orders which are paid WITH that module.
"Processing" is the normal default status of most modules that actively collect payment immediately during checkout.

Okay the orders are showing up in Zencart. However the payment isn't processing through Paypal. My card is not being charged. However I am getting a order confirmation email. So what's going on? I feel like I have done everything within the instructions. Why isn't Zen Cart and Paypal talking to each other?????

What version of Zen Cart are you using?

It sounds like you're using an old version of Zen Cart that has the "Credit Card - Offline Processing" module, and you've left it enabled and you're using that to enter your card number in your site, instead of actually selecting PayPal and going over to PayPal's site to enter payment details.

    1. Click "Remove" on any payment modules you're not going to be using.
    2. Upgrade to the latest version of Zen Cart ... NOW. There's no point in developing your new site on an old version.
