    Default Upgrading v.1.3.7 / php5

    Hi

I'm on ZC v1.3.7, and I'm trying to decide whether to just apply the 1.3.7 patches (a bit late I know, but my subscription to the forum turned itself off and I didn't notice) and wait for v1.4 to do a new install, or upgrade to 1.3.8 now and then have to do it again when 1.4 is out.

My server is shortly to upgrade to php5. I notice in http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=78538 that Ajeh says "Zen Cart v1.3.7.1 works with php 5.x ...". Can somebody please confirm whether v.1.3.7 + patches will work with php5, or do I have to install 1.3.7.1 completely (in which case I might as well do 1.3.8).

    Thanks

v1.3.8 contains 11 months' worth of bugfixes and improvements over v1.3.7.
I'd naturally recommend using the latest version, rather than applying partial patches.

There's no set date for v1.4 ... you'd be best advised to use 1.3.8 for now.

Thanks DrB, that's pretty much what I expected to hear... however in terms of juggling current workload, can you pls advise whether v.1.3.7 + patches will work with php5 until I can get on to v.1.3.8.

1.3.7 largely works with PHP 5.
1.3.7.1 contains a handful of fixes ... none are specific to PHP5 if my memory is correct.
1.3.8 contains many months of fixes ... some are related to PHP5, but are not crucial as far as PHP5 is concerned.
