    Default Protx VSPForm payment

Has anyone managed to use the protx VSPForm instead of the VSPDirect method?
All i could find on the forum about protx are the modules for the direct system but i'm not sure that's the best way for me. Any suggestions are much appreciated as i'm stuck in the development of my site

    Hi,

I use Protx VSP Form and it works fine. It takes a bit of setting up because you have to design the form pages to match your site. It also makes the checkout a bit longer because VSP form asks for information over a few pages rather than just one. Not had any issues with it though.

Protx VSP Direct is quicker for the customer and integrates with your site better but you are the one taking the card details rather than Protx so you have to be PCI compliant.

If you are happy that you (and your host) can deal with the PCI requirements then go with VSP Direct. If you don't want to have to worry about PCI then leave taking the card details to Protx and go with VSP Form.

    Regards,
    Christian.

well would you mind telling me how did you set it up? it would be much better for me to use the form too so is one thing less to worry about but i'm not entirely sure what to do and how to direct the checkout to the VSP Form. I downloaded the kit from the protx download page but after editing the strings with my account details i'm pretty stuck.

It's been about 4 months since I did one but IIRC the process went something like...
    1. Get Internet Merchant Account with bank.
    2. Open account with Protx for VSP Form.
    3. Install VSP Form payment module in Zen Cart
    4. Download template pack and customise templates.
    5. Send templates to Protx to install on test server.
    6. Perform test payments and refunds.
    7. Set up Direct Debit for Protx payments.
    8. Tell Protx you want to go live.
    9. Go live.

    Regards,
    Christian.

    Thanks for your reply,

i'm basically stuck at point 5: i got the templates but what i don't understand is how to link the checkout page from zencart to the form from protx. Basically how is the costumer directed to the protx payment page by cclicking on checkout?

The VSPForm Payment module for Zen Cart does that for you. When it is enabled the customer is given the option to pay via Protx. Once they click on the order confirmation button they are taken to the Protx website to enter their card details. When payment is complete the customer is directed back to your site and the checkout success page.

    Regards,
    Christian.
