customizing the shopping cart

Hello to all.
Is it possible to disable the payment procedure for the moment in my site? For now when customers put the products on cart and try to buy , the customer can only send email or something like that regarding his cart.

Have a look at: Admin > Configuration > My Store

Store Status
What is your Store Status
0= Normal Store
1= Showcase no prices
2= Showcase with prices

In Showcase mode, nobody can purchase.

Thank u for your response.
The point u mentioned is similar to "Call for price".
But here customer cannot login. (Well, that can be managed)
But the shopping cart is also disabled in this status.

My reply was based on your question of; "How to disable the Payment page from showing."

If people cannot make payment, would you agree there is no sense in letting them put something into a Shopping Cart? There would also be no reason to allow logging in, since that would also be done to make a purchase which they cannot do.

My reply was just the first. Perhaps someone will come along with a better one.

I was searching for something like cash on delivery where no payement procedures like credit cart,paypal, etc are needed. For now I used 'cash on delivery' as the solution to my problem
