    Default checkout crashing

when i attempt to checkout it just leads to a blank page.

i notice this happens when i have a lot of items in my shopping cart (i can checkout when i have a few items or so).

any idea what would cause this or how i can prevent it?

i got off the phone with the host ..

tell me if this makes sense because i dont know much,

he said it could be 1 of 3 things:

    1) # of processes
    2) cpu time to process
    3) php has some 30 second limit on processes

he said i can upgrade my account ... the order i put through was about 50 different items? and 12-24 of each item.

i upgraded my account to see if it would work since i can get a refund if it doesn't ...

does anyone know if the above 3 can be the reasons?

Yes, it could be related to server issues.
It could also be related to the number of sales/specials you have configured, and the number of attributes assigned to your products.

Did upgrading your plan make any difference?

Were you going to answer the questions asked of you earlier?

there aren't many attributes .. you can login with the account information ive given if you want to recreate the problem (the shopping cart is full of stuff, just need to checkout).

    there are no sales/specials.

zencart version is 1.3.7 .. as for payment shipping we offer paypal or cheque .. but i can't even get to that stage with so many items.

the hosting support said to wait a bit before my upgrade kicks in ..

is there a way of editing posts?

anyways so far the upgrade has not helped .. it has been over an hour since..

is it possible that zencart isn't able to handle orders over 50 different type of items?

Zen Cart can handle it. However, some stores have a combination of sales, specials, taxes, discounts, special order-totals, attributes, etc which makes the calculation of numbers quite complicated. It can also be complicated by having a slow or less-tuned database server.

There is some redundancy in the v1.3 code that has been overhauled for the upcoming v1.4 code which will vastly improve these issues.

How often are you doing checkouts of large quantities of unique items?

is there an estimated release date for 1.4?

All checkouts will be large quantities (50+), I just recently opened this store and unfortuntely received a few compliants already.. so I am hoping to get it resolved soon.

Should I try to find another host? Ive called them several times and I am waiting for another response.
