How do I turn off "New Products"

On my category pages, under all my category's products, is displayed a section called "new products for December". It shows thumbnail images and titles.

I want to turn that off. I scoured the admin. I searched the forums. How do I turn it off?

I found it!

go to configuration>index listing> I used a "find" command in the browser to find three instances of the word "new" and set them all to "0".

Then my categories pages did not have the new producs listed at the bottom anymore.

This threw me off because to me, "index listing" means "whatever is listed on the index page", which is the home page of the site. But now I guess ZC is talking about the index of each category.
