Downloads Atrributes getting lost

Problem: The attributes (the download file info) is being dropped during purchase.

I brought this up before but I think I have found the issue. I use the wishlist mod and it does not add to the cart correctly. It is much like the "Buy Now" issue that the downloads have. I assume this is because the download is an attribute requiring the "choosing" of the single "choice" on the product page.

So, is there a way to add the attribute to a cart submit? I would think anyone doing downloads would want this.

Baring a complete involved solution, how about a simple "This is how you generate the attribute line for addition to HTML" kind of thing?

Make an Option Value for:
Pick One ...
Select from Below ...
etc. etc.

Then set to DEFAULT and DISPLAY ONLY and Sort Order 0 ...

Now the customer has to pick a valid Option Value and is not forced to accidentally accept a blank or default value that might be wrong ...

A question though. Will this still force them to go to the product page? If so, then I am not so sure it would work for the wishlist mode or the "Buy Now" button. I just want to be sure before I apply it to the live site.

In Zen Cart, by default, and Product with an attribute goes to the product _info page ...

nIf you wish to re-write the code to skip that step you will have to do more on the custom code level to ensure all attributes are added ...

We will be looking into this further in future releases of Zen Cart but for now there is not a method built in to skip the product _info when attributes are used as there needs to be a choice made by the customer ...
