I've spent the last day, or so, setting up a new layout for Swift Books. I'm having a few problems, though, although these are hopefully due to my lack of CSS knowledge. I'm also seeing differences I don't understand between IE and FF pages.
Here's what I mean about the CSS problems:

The above image shows how the template looks (so far) in FireFox. It's a modified comstock.
What I'd like to do -
1 - Centre the banner image. I can't see where to do this although I'm guessing it must be possible in CSS.
2 - Centre the other three bars under the banner image. This must have a similar solution.
3 - On the Book Search sidebox there's a small gap between the header image and the content image. Any hints about where to get rid of the gap?
4 - I'd like to get rid of the product name at the end of the breadcrumb trail. It's already in big letters not far below the breadcrumbs so it isn't really needed there.
Here's an IE image of the same page (IE7):

Notice how the grey box around the product is missing its sides? I can live with that, but I'd prefer it to be the same as FF. I'd, at least, like to understand why it happens. Any suggestions?
BTW: The development system is on my PC at present so is not accessible. For those of you who prefer to keep out of the way on Christmas day (like me) I'll be setting my test system up as a sub-domain of swiftbooks.co.uk.
For those of you who celebrate Christmas, but don't take it too seriously, here's an ecard I put together for my partner to send to a colleague who has a customer who looks just like the character on the card - but is an even bigger nuisance!
All the best, whatever - and however - you celebrate the silly season.
