can't find MySQL Backup Tool

Use either the "Backup MySQL Database" contribution under Admin->Tools to do the backup of your database

I have no option under there.

Did you go to the download section on this site, download and install that mod?

The keyword in the FAQ is contribution - that means it is an optional add-on.

in that case, rewrite the faq to state you need to download and install the contribution before you can go to admin->tools to use it.

I have downloaded mySQL Backup mod but not sure where to put it. The readme says "upload all files from the "admin" folder of this ZIP as-is to your server". Where on the server? Root directory? When I put them there I still don't get a listing under Admin> Tools. I've tried a couple of other places too.
