Customer photo upload after purchase

I am wondering if such a thing exists,

A sidebox / contribution that allows past customers to upload a photo of themselves using the product they purchased from you. I would then hope to be able to have them (or thumbnails with links) displayed on the corresponding product detail page. I've seen this feature on numerous non-zen-cart sites and its really successful as far as customer contributions go.

The other thing i'm hoping to add is the ability for customers to add their comments on the product detail page.

Do these features exist in zen-cart?

This is not a built-in option at the present time.

The other thing i'm hoping to add is the ability for customers to add their comments on the product detail page.

There is a product-review feature built-in to Zen Cart. When enabled, your customers can click on "Write a Review" to submit their comments. If comments exist, there will be a Read Reviews link. There's also a Reviews sidebox that shows random reviews on each page refresh.

You might be able to adapt the reviews feature to handle submitted images by doing some custom coding and security handling.

I should be able to bypass that 'read reviews' button and just incorporate the reviews onto the product detail page -- can you tell me the best way to get started on this?

It's not exactly a "copy and paste" thing. You'll have to study the code and follow what it's doing to figure out how to add the reviews-page code into your product-page.

Just as with any page, there is some logic in several files:
/includes/modules/pages/THE_PAGE/header_php.php
/includes/modules/pages/THE_PAGE/main_template_vars.php
/includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_THE_PAGE_default.php

You'll have to merge appropriate pieces from appropriate pages.
