Need some sideboxes to have a different color top image & font color

I think that once again I have come across something that I attemped way back in v1.2 something that involved having to make multiple copies of tpl_list_box_content.php. However that is all I remember, so here I am groveling for directions once again.

I am making a companion store to a website (not the golf one-this is a different one) and need to duplicate the main site template as much as possible. This involves turning off the right columns and just using the left. Then I had to create a background for the left column that is 3 different colors layered one on top of the other, and just made it the bg for columnLeft.

Then I left the sideboxes with no background images and transparent backgrounds. As the sideboxes go down the left, as soon as they go into a different color shade, I need the header image to be a different color, as well as the font.

There must be a way to accomplish this with css or some other simple method I am overlooking. I have been through the sidebox module and template files, and as of yet can't find what it is. Of course I'm also brain cramped from a second store I'm working on also which doesn't help.

Any clues or hints or outright answers thrown my way, very greatly appreciated,

Thank you for the suggestion Misty. I had that one downloaded but hadn't thought of it since it just deals with the categories box, but will take a look at it anyway in case it sparks some ideas about the other boxes also.

How come your search box works better than my search box?

This looks promising! I just wish the sample site was still up so I could see what they were referring to, but there is a lot of info there to fill in the spaces! If I really need to see it, there's always the wayback machine!
