    Default mysupermarket - WoW

    Hi Guys,

I have just seen all the features of zen cart and I am very impresed with it. I intend toi switch from virtumart over to Zen. I wonder if anyone out here can point me to some solutions with regard the layout I would like to achieve.

The model I am looking at is mysupermarket.com where all the products appear to be in a grid, with a quantity box under each item. You make all your selctions and press "add all" at the end.

    http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/Shopping/Products.aspx

I think mysupermarket has it perfectly laid out for online shopping of this kind.

Does anyone know how I can achieve something similar with Zen Cart. (I want the items full width with the quantity box under each item)

For anyone out side the uk. mysupermarket is a supermarket comparison/purchse site. You will need a uk postcode to log in ( you can use L25 7RG as an example of a uk postcode). Enter the post code and click "start shopping" you will see the categories at the top with the products 5 a breast across the whole page.

I don’t expect perfection as I am sure mysupermarket have a bespoke system, but hopefully with your assistance you might know of a template that I could modify to achieve something similar.

    thanks

    Vince

    Hi Vince

You are right that mysupermarket.co.uk is a bespoke/custom development. There simply isn't anything else like it (at least that I know of) out there. Indeed it's whole existence is based on being uniquely good and in particular better than the IT departments of some of the UK's largest and most successful companies.

So there isn't a template that can just transform Zen Cart, or any other shopping package into something resembling this site. The changes needed run much deeper than the template level. However, Zen Cart gives you a fairly good platform upon which to start building your site.
