Additional images only showing large version.

I'm having a problem getting large and small versions of additional product images to work properly. I've been following the article on setting up additional images, but its just resizing the large image into a thumbnail rather than using the smaller image I created for the thumbnail. I've named my images accordingly, but as soon as I add an image with a _LRG suffix, it wants to use it for the thumbnail. Rather than use my thumbnail image for the thumbnail and the large image for the popup. Thanks for any help.

Why not just use... Image Handler 2 and let IM2 sort your image sizes out for you so you only up load one image and IM sorts the size on the fly.
