*BSD server question (mostly regarding payflow pro binaries)

Having gone through a disasterous "upgrade" attempt between x-cart and miva I decided to move our company to a smaller host, and use Zen Cart.

The new host, however, is a BSD-based solution. Normally this isn't a problem. However since they use payflow pro as their payment option, and the payflow pro module for ZC has a couple of binaries needed for it to be functional - I wanted to ask if this would be a problem. Will the binaries compiled with the Payflow Pro payment module work within the context of a BSD system?

Looking at the files' information I see:

$ file pfpro
pfpro: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), stripped

It's an ELF executable that I tried running on my Macbook Pro (intel) which didn't work. Will I run into the same issues if I install this at my BSD-based webhost?

(I guess this is slightly directed at DrByte, but if anyone else can inform me then I GREATLY appreciate it.)

What version of Zen Cart are you trying to run?

1.3.8a or 1.3.8?
Best to use the latest esp if just doing a fresh install.

Do you have a Payflow Pro account, or a Website Payments Pro account?

Re: *BSD server question (mostly regarding payflow pro binaries)

I guess it's 1.3.8a ... I just checked the tarball I downloaded.

as for the PFP stuff - my client's using it already with another cart and it's functional. So yes - we have an account with Payflow Pro.

Re: *BSD server question (mostly regarding payflow pro binaries)

Try the attached files ... you must have v1.3.8a or newer installed before using these files.
This is not yet fully-tested and may have some display quirks.
It only runs on 1.3.8a, and is for PayPal Payflow Pro specifically.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!
Use THIS version of the addon instead: http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?main_page=product_contrib_info&products_id=321

The attached file is old, and still points to the older verisign services :(

Re: *BSD server question (mostly regarding payflow pro binaries)

Pardon my ignorance, but - do these new files circumvent the fact that this would be on a bsd server? I'm mostly concerned with the fact the binaries in the distribution look like they were compiled for Linux. What do these new files have going for them in comparison to the previous version?

Regardless - Thanks for all the help so far good sir :).

They are a complete rewrite, using a more modern Payflow API ... which doesn't need the PHP binaries on your server. It just requires CURL+SSL.

Re: *BSD server question (mostly regarding payflow pro binaries)

The zip that Dr Byte posted is indeed for Payflow Pro.

By the way - it works absolutely beautifully. Got my first Zen Cart store up, running, skinned, and processing orders without fail.

My thanks to the entire Zen Cart community :)

No, the posted module is for Payflow Pro.
Website Payments Pro support (including Website Payments Pro Payflow Edition) is already built-in to Zen Cart v1.3.8a and newer.

Re: *BSD server question (mostly regarding payflow pro binaries)

Hi,

Hope this is a good place to post this.

I've been testing and getting the 1.3.8 payflow module to work great I believe. Everything looks good in the Admin and I have no errors. The tests are getting through to Paypal. But the question I had was; Is it supposed to send the order number from the zen cart to the processor (manager.paypal.com) so I can track this there too? It does put the Transaction ID there so that's okay, but I wanted to make sure it's getting all the info there. I know in the past when I had an oscommerce site using payflow it sent at least the order number in the comment 1 area (on the Paypal site). I believe it even sent that it was from oscommerce too (in the Comment 2 area). Need to have everything working perfectly. So I just thought I would check to make sure that all the info was getting there.

I'm running 1.3.8a:wub:

Re: *BSD server question (mostly regarding payflow pro binaries)

Technically, since the order number is not yet known when the payment is processed (it's issued after payment is received), the only way to put an order number in the comment field would be to "guess" what the next order number would be (same with the other shopping cart too).

Technically it's not doing anything wrong.

Re: *BSD server question (mostly regarding payflow pro binaries)

DrByte, is there a newer version out yet? I'm running Zen 1.3.8a and have been failing to get payflow pro working. I just tried your 1.3.8 software posted here, which seems to be just what I need, but when checking out my browser never gets a response back. In email I get "getLineItemDetails 7", then "getLineItemDeatils 3", then "getLinItemDetails 8", "before_process - DP-1" and the last one is "before_process - DP-4" and that's it. I don't get anything that looks like an error. I'm on a godaddy server using the curl proxy.

ok, I just found a CURL log file that has this:

Re: *BSD server question (mostly regarding payflow pro binaries)

Perhaps PayPal has changed the URL for their sandbox.
Try the module in live mode instead of sandbox.

Re: *BSD server question (mostly regarding payflow pro binaries)

The PayFlowPro develer Guide https://www.paypal.com/en_US/pdf/PayflowPro_Guide.pdf (Page 15)

Says:
Use the following host addresses for the Payflow V4 SDK:
- For live transactions, use payflowpro.paypal.com
- For testing purposes, use pilot-payflowpro.paypal.com
For theV3 SDK, use the host addresses below:
- For live transactions, use payflow.verisign.com
- For testing purposes, use test-payflow.verisign.com

Looking through your code, I don't see what SDK version you are using. I've been trying each of these URL's with no luck yet.
