Default sidebar vanishes when changing the template

for some reason, when I create a new template, the content in the sidebar disappears. But when I revert back to classic green, the info returns. I even duplicated the classic folder, changed the name and info in template_info.php so that the new folder was exactly the same as the classic (aside from name) and when I activated that template the content in the sidebar vanished again. Any thoughts?

When changing templates, sideboxes have to be activated
    for that template..i.e.
    admin/tools/layout box controller..

You can also hit the... *brain fart* I think it's a reset button. (Not enough coffee yet this morning) in the sideboxes screen. That's normal. That will bring them back.

Dear Lesli, like jrs, I too had the exact same problem...so I would think this is a reoccuring issue. I know I would like useful help, rather than your idea of comedy, at the expense of new zenners!

Install mod from url above..saves your default sideboxes
layout..otherwise you will need to turn on sideboxes via
admin, as per my first post in this thread.
