Images Fuzzy on Upgrade

I've Googled myself to death and have read so many threads on this issue and I'm at a loss as to the solution to my problem.

I was running 1.3.7 - site was perfect
installed 1.3.8 in a new folder so we could customize it without taking the live site down - site in temp folder was perfect

In live site, we renamed all the folders and files to old-*
copied the folders and files from the temp folder over to the live site

Everything works except in the live site now, the images are not sizing properly. But viewing the site in the temp folder, they are fine.

this to me makes no sense... the live site is a carbon copy of the dev site with the exception of the config file having dev-onlinestudio removed in the paths.

any ideas?

Seems like it could be a setting in your admin Configurations->Images. I would make sure that the values match for each store setup.

When you upgraded, perhaps some of the MySQL values got reset back to default.

both sites access the same database. Only the config file is different relating to the path.

I even tried in the admin setting the width to 0 which according the posts should allow the images to resize and all it does is make the image a thin line.

This is so strange...

You made sure that you were changing the setting for

Image - Product Listing Width - 0
Image - Product Listing Height - Your desired height

yes...
now another doozy... I made yet another folder called artbynature.ca/testfolder

reuploaded the whole dang site again, changed the config file for the new path and images are fine!!!!

The images are not displayed correctly on the site itself and only displaying correctly in the test folders. grrrr :)

Yes I see what you mean. They look just right in both test sites, but not on the live site yet.
