Default SQL error when using Protx module and zones

    Hi,
In Admin when I select an order to view, I get the following error msg:

1054 Unknown column 'U' in 'where clause'
    in:
    [ SELECT zone_id FROM zen_zones_to_geo_zones WHERE geo_zone_id = 2 AND zone_country_id = U ORDER BY zone_id ]

Running zc.1.3.7., using zone_rates for shipping, protx_direct for payment, Sales Report & User Tracking, UK template.

I suspect that the error may have something to do with zone definitions or tax classes. I un-installed a number of things like flat rate shipping before it want awol.

However, I've compared this shop's database with another UK shop database, & there doesn't seem to be any real difference btn the 2.

    Any suggestions? Thanks!
    Eddie

    Hi all,
I've just resolved this 'issue' - stupid user (me) I'm afraid. I'd set the Payment Zone on the Protx_direct payment module to UK. Resetting it to 'none' did the trick - now I can edit orders, etc. Yipee!

    Cheers,
    Eddie

Default Re: SQL error when using Protx module and zones

    Hi Ajeh,
I am still left wondering why this change should lead to a sql error?

Can you reality check my understanding of this module? Am I correct in thinking that when you set a payment zone in a payment_module, you are essentially saying accept this payment type in this zone only?

If so, I would expect that changing the payment zone as I did (from 'none' to my own 'UK') would lead to an error along the lines of, 'Sorry, but no orders found for this payment zone ....' rather than a SQL error.

Does this error msg imply that the error handling needs attention?

    Thanks,
    Eddie

    your assumptions are correct.

Must be a bug in the module's code where zones are handled.

Thank you for putting this on the forum,

    It is the unexpected solution.

I have had a disaster. I moved server as it was slow, having just added superorders but not uploading the sql. That took weeks to sort out as my protx account suddenly would not return successful orders and then this latest error on the orders meaning I could not change the details to processing etc.
There are so many interrelated things to look at.

Hopefully I can now go live.
