I really want to change the layout of the products that are shown on the index page under the featured, whats new and specials heading, I see that they use the tpl_columnar_display.tpl to display them but its not an ideal page to be able to edit.

I want to display them in two columns which is fine, but then have the image on the left and title and part description alongside the image.

Any ideas
