Default error message: 1054 Unknown column 'p.products_id' in 'on clause'

    Hi guys!

I use ZEn Cart for my online catalog. It was working fine until 2 hours ago. Suddenly when browsing the catalog, the categories and the products do not display anymore, instead there is an error message:

1054 Unknown column 'p.products_id' in 'on clause'

What do I do to fix that?

Thank you so much in advance!

Thank you! I read those, but am a bit confused.

So, do I upgrade the Zen Cart version and then somehow import the databases containing my current information?

Did your hosting company recently tell you that they were upgrading their PHP or MySQL software?
What version of PHP and MySQL is your site using?

Thanks! I just got off the phone with my hosting, they said the same. They also said I did not have to download the full new version, that there were scripts I could run to do the upgrade?

Well, if they believe they are experts in that area, perhaps they can coach you in the process, and help you when their advice fails to work properly.

Here are the normal upgrade instructions:

Upgrading is not a task to be taken lightly. Especially if you have a lot of customizations or have a lot of versions to upgrade from.

When upgrading from v1.2.x to v1.3.x, it is best to plan to rebuild your template and your customizations. There were significant template changes. It'll likely be less work to rebuild than to try to simply convert each file.

A script is supplied to handle your database data.

Follow the tutorial mentioned above. It'll take you through the process.
It's not something you'll likely complete overnight though.
