serious problem - cpu usage - urgent help!

My hostgator account is suspended due to too much cpu usage!

I had the account up and running for just over a month and there cannot be that much of traffic.

They gave me a list of URL which are mostly in my image folder. The image file sizes are not that big at all.

Have anybody report similar problems? I do not thnik i have that much traffic. So I do not think I should upgrade to a dedicated server. If zen cart causes the problem, even upgrading to the next level is not going to solve the problem.

what would the image sizes be, small to large, and how many URL where there?

you did not say anything about image mods?, and other mods you are running?

I run my own server and run CPU load checks and just changed my images from 75 dpi to 300 dpi the size went from 9-12k to 19-25k, I get about 500 hits a day and during the peak time the load was 12% with 75 dpi images, but I noticed that when I changed to 300 dpi the load went up to 16%, but at no time has zen-cart ever caused a CPU overload on my server, I have never had that many hits at a time.

Thats why I asked what are your image sizes and how many hits are you getting you should know this, it's right on the admin dashboard, but you got to get your host to turn you back on so we can test and see what up!

they wont turn my site back on. According to my other site (www.goldduo.com) which has similar contents, the largest images I found is 260px by 400 px, the size of the image is 44.5 kb. Most other images are 160x160 px or 10 kb.

The URLs on the part of the logs I received from hostgator are mostly ipod_accessories/images/...

the site was under denial of service attack - first time i have heard of this.
