Default Problem with setting SaleMaker sales on hidden categories.

It isn't really a problem with hiding the categories. After I set up thehidden categories, I can not create a sale on a category that contains products linked for the hidden category. The sale will apply to any product not linked, but not on the products that are linked. Any ideas?

    Thanks in Advance

By hidden Category I am guessing you mean that the Category is disabled ...

If a Category is not valid then the Sale probably is getting confused as well ...

I have not had time to test this, but it makes sense ... not an active Category then not an active Sale ...

    Thanks for the quick reply.

The category is hidden as in named HIDDEN - CAT NAME and then disabled. The products show up in the store though because they are linked and enabled through other categories. It there a file edit or something that I can do in order to be able to have a sale for an entire category?

If you do not Disable the Category does the Sale then work?

If you still need to solve your problem then message me, I know exactly what you're trying to achieve as I have just spent the last four hours making this happen on my own site.

I have hidden subcategories but I know exactly how to make the products within these categories as active as can be.

It's quite easy but you should be looking at storing the products in a linked category.

    Example...

    1. make a category called lingerie
    2. make a sub category called 34F (nice category :-)
    3. create a "mock" product in the 34F category and then disable this product. You only need this so you can cross link products into this category.
    4. disable the 34F category (now it wont show in the categories list)
    5. create your live products in the lingerie category.
    6. link your live products to the 34F category using cross linking copy method.
    7. now, simply mark your products as active in both categories.

Works a treat for me. If you need more help then just msg me.
