Down for maintenance problem

Hi all,

I have been doing the prep work to upgrade a client's site to 1.3.8 and was all set to go ahead. However, when I went to put the site down for maintenance, the site is still active even though admin shows it is in maintenance mode.

I have tried changing the IP address in the exceptions to be nothing or something other than mine and still the store is completely active.

The weird thing is that I just had it in maintenance mode the day before yesterday to do a db backup and it was fine. I'm not aware of having changed anything.

Any clues?

Hmmm...

Never mind. Mysteriously when I tried it again after a few minutes it worked and shows correctly as down for maintenance. Weird!
