Offline Order Forms???

Hello Gang,

Is there a way to generate a offline order form print out for those that would like to fax their orders?

This form would show the contents of the cart with an area for them to manually write the credit card information and then they would fax it to me.

There are still some people that are leary about online credit card orders.

Haven't tried it but I believe there is some sort of Fax Order addon in the downloads section.

I too am looking for an offline order form as described by Magicman.

I downloaded the contribution you refererenced to check it out.
I just installed it on a v1.3.8 site. Thanks for bringing to my attention. Unfortunately, it doesn't do what MagicMan was looking for.

This contribution provides a credit card authorization form which is prefilled with the order number, buyer's name, address, etc. and provides blanks for completing the credit card details. This form is intended for the buyer to print out and fax back to the store. It does not show any of the order details.... just the order number. Not even the total amount of the order is shown.

It is a well designed form for what it does and installation was easy. I will keep it on my site until something better comes along...iaw a similar form but with order details included.

I have not yet had a chance to load it. I am installing a demosite specifically to load and install ne mods onto just in case they don't work they will not crash my live site.

I'll keep looking or try to configure something with one of my buddies. This is a much needed Mod.

I haven't installed that mod - so I didn't know its functionality. It sounds like it is a great start to addressing a larger need. With that as the base to build from, I imagine that it would be possible to add the functionality you need fairly easily. I am afraid that I am not the person for the job - but keep me posted if you find something else that works better.

Actually, it's quite do-able for many sites. People go through the whole checkout process and the order is processed in ZenCart normally. Only the payment is handled by fax, not much different operationally than accepting a money order. You can set up a default order status for fax orders (such as "pending fax payment") to avoid mistakes (like shipping without receiving payment).

If I interpreted his post correctly, Magicman wanted ZenCart to store the order and prepare a prefilled order form plus cc authorization all on one fax document. If something like that hasn't been created yet, it would seem relatively easy to create by hijacking some code from invoice.php to create the prefilled order form and adding the credit card text.
