Switching from another cart to Zen, but keeping online shop URL?

I've installed one Zen Cart shop so far. I have another client for whom I set up a DigiShop cart. BAD IDEA. I want to switch her over to Zen. Since this is the first time I'm doing this, I would love input on what to watch out for.

My biggest concern is that she has her shop domain.com/shop for the live shop and has advertised it all over the place and doesn't want to change it. Plus, that's what the SSL certificate is set up for. Can I install Zen into another directory for development purposes and then, when I'm ready to hook it up with the SSL cert and go live, simply rename the directory? Will that mess up any links in the installed Zen Cart? How can I do this with the least amount of downtime?

I am just baffled on how to make this work. Thanks so much in advance for your suggestions.

It's almost that simple. After you switch the Zen Cart to its final location, you will need to edit filepath names in /includes/configure.php and /admin/includes/configure.php.
