Default Synchronising stock of two websites

I was woundering if the following is possible:

Is it be possible to synchronize stock between two websites? Or have several stores using the same DB but only share products/stock. Having different pricing, shipping, tax options.

If been looking for a nice way to go online with several websites for enduser and wholesale, but want to have one central stock.

    Any idea's or suggestions?

Products on all websites will be the same.

I'm running about a year now with ZC with several mods added.

    Thnx in advanced.

Anything's possible... (People have even walked on the moon...), but this would probably require significant (and expert) input.

I have had (under TEST conditions) two "skins" running off the same dbase, and (using CSS "display: none;" have managed to have several "cosmetic" differences.

But as the database is common, all settings, switches and selections in the admin panel will be COMMON to both shops. This includes addresses, shipping, currency, categories, products, etc. etc. etc.....

i was thinking lately to have the end user store running without a prefix and the wholesale shop with a prefix in the same database, only thing to change would then that the wholesale store lookes and substracts the stock fromout the same database without the prefix.
Like that IMO that would only have to change a little bit of coding?? (hope so) in the wholesale store.

i did not look at the wholesale mod yet. two diff. shops.

Maybe I can take some complexity out of this. I would be more than happy with a script that would take productdetails out of Database A and automagically import these details in Database B. I would thus run this script several times a day to sync the stocklevel from A to B. I know this aint perfect, but I would use it.

But what about if you sell goods from the store running on database B? Then your A DB should be updated..

As this is a controlled variable set in the configure.php files one would have to determine and locate for one shop all the instances of this var and hard code this to look at a specific named table versus the var table. I do not know how many places this is so can not expound on if this is easy or hard - it will be on both front end and admin sides so you must take care to preserve your edits

Hmmmm... you're right. How drunk was I when I wrote this? But aint it possible to replace all references to quantity from site B to the database of site A? I don't mind to do some hard work, but I have no clue as of how to....
