Admin Login Problem PLEASE HELP

Firstly, I am supposed to have this cart migrated this weekend, I think I can have the front end working but the admin sections not right.

I set the zencart up on Godaddy without a problem at all (and have set up several others without major issues)

This site is running fine on Godaddy. I am now moving it to net registry and I have had many hurles today which I have overcome but I am currently doing a fresh install for the 3rd time today.

I cannot login to the admin section. I know the username and password are right. I have tried setting up the temp username and Password as another post saidusing an sql query, the sql query said it went through fine but the user -Admin - pass-admin details did not work.

I am currently uploading zencart again, I will install it using a new database I will set up as well.

I will then preserve the 2 new configure.php files...upload the old files from Godaddy and then reinsert the preserved configure.php files

I will then drop the tables and import the database from the one I had set up on godaddy. I will use the same admin username at netregistry as I used at godaddy, so that should not be an issue.

This is exactly what I have done the last 2 times and wil do again.

I cant see that I have done anything wrong.
Can anyone else pull me up on anything that might be causing me not to be able to login to admin.

What version of Zen Cart? 1.3.8
What version of PHP? 5
I would suggest using 1.3.8a since it contains simply a few updated PHP files to fix a few early-discovered bugs.

Which specific version of PHP 5?

When you go to the site and attempt to access index.php in your browser, you should see the "results" of running the PHP code in the file.
However, if your server is *not* processing the PHP as a script, it will display the file's contents to the browser.
It seems your server's config isn't set to execute PHP files as PHP.

I have never used them before, it was all set up and going when I took over.

Can I upload my old files over 1.3.8a I do I have to go and upgrade on the old site first.

PHP 5, I dont know, in the netregistry console you could choose 4 or 5 and the install apge was blank using 4.

Why is just the php script showing now and it dsidnt last time.

Thanks for hellping...so much

Look at the list of changed files in the thread I linked you to ... those are all you need to replace.

I've no idea why it would croak on PHP4. There's nothing special in it for 4 or 5.

The installer's inspection page should tell you your PHP version though.

I'm inclined to recommend that if it's not going to work, that you reschedule and do some more checking about where you're moving "to" before you burn any bridges behind you.

Time to talk to tech support.

Maybe you've disabled PHP altogether in your account?

Re: Admin Login Problem PLEASE HELP

here is a wierd one for you, this arvo when I changed to php 5, I left PHP 4 enabled as well, just went back in and 5 was enabled and not 4, so I thought I would enable them both and see what hapenned, and I see the install page now. I will install now and then see if I can get into the admin again.

Thanks

OK, I thought I would wait, I have got the front end going with 1.3.8, I had already started on it 1.3.8a would be next. I am 100% sure on the user and password. Even at initial installl before uploding the old files, I couldnt log into admin, it just refresheds the page as such.

Now thats most is working have you any other ideas.

Thanks
