    help question Valentines Specials

    Hi all,

My client would like to promote a number of items for Valentines day, but I'm unsure as the best way of doing this, and wanted to find out how other people would do this...

Now I have a number of Featured Products, so the obvious would be too disable the products I don't want to feature over Valentines, and add the products I do. However, is there a better way of doing this? Ie, can I add something which I can switch on / off every year - for example, a Valentines category, which lists certain products from other categories? I could then disable / enable this when needed.

Any suggestions would be great - I'm trying to understand all the admin features of ZC, and what they could be used for etc.

    Cheers all!

Both your answers would work, and without programmiing, I can't think of another. They would imp[act your site differently. If you used featured products (rather more work by the way) you could easily show the products on the front page. If you used a category your would have less work each time you turned it on and off, but would probably need to create a banner to draw attention to and link to the category.

    Thanks Kuroi.

How would I go about making a category, which pulls selected products from other categories?

    For example;

    CatA
    ProdA
    ProdB

    CatB
    ProdC
    ProdD

    ValCat
    ProdB
    ProdC

    1. Create your category in Admin > Catalog > Catagories/Products.
    2. In the same menu, navigate to the first product to link
    3. Click on the "C" icon
    4. Choose the new category from the drop down menu and the link copy method
    5. Click on the copy button
    6. Repeat steps 2 - 5 for each product to be linked
