Include manufacturer in the product name automatically

I always specify a manufacturer when adding the product, but then I also have to write it in the product name, e.g.:

Manufacturer: Adidas
Name: Adidas - ZX600

Seems to be redundant. Is there a way to include the manufacturer automatically in the product name? Is there a function that handles product names that I can edit to accomplish this?

update product name set producte name=product name + manufacturer name

Ya, but this is something I'd have to do each time I add a new product. I'd like to have proper data (not modified) and just display manuf on the places where product name is displayed. What you are suggesting is to modify the data.

For that you would have to make the changes in tpl_product_info_display.php which is placed in
\includes\templates\template_default\templates

But then I also need to edit all the other templates where the product name appears. Like listings, orders, shopping cart. I am still looking for a way to just edit something in one place and have it affect everything else. :)

Your best bet would be to update the current products by using the update query and for the new product addition, you can do everything manually or write a stored procedure which will isnsert manufacturer name in the product desc
