I used Monsz fix and it seems to have fixed the problem. I have done a few test orders and they all seemed to have gone through. I hope this will be a permanent fix!

Have been using PayPal standard and Express for a year no problems, suddenly today the dreaded error 10413 appeared!
No tax in our store, but it's the first time that we offered a FREE product, and an OPTION to add a ONE TIME donation, and another OPTION to tell us whether we can reclaim tax on the donation ( we are a charity).
So when the transaction went to PayPal using Express it went as follows:
Once you return from PayPal, you can then decide whether the items need to be posted, and if so, a further postage amount is added, so the total then on Step 3 shows as:
As SOON AS you press Confirm Payment button, the error 10413 appears with:" Transaction refused because of an invalid argument. See additional error messages for details. - The totals of the cart item amounts do not match order amounts"
In desperation I implemented Monsz's change and it seems to solve it.
Intriguing!

The 10413 error is resolved in v1.3.9a.

Hi,
I have issue in PayPal Express Checkout.
Here what i did.
I given 5% discount on total purchase more then $25 i have did some calculation in ot_total.php for this
It show the discount amount and all calculation but PayPal not allow for this after click on confirm order it go to the papal site and then it gives error
10413 ##Transaction refused because of an invalid argument. See additional error messages for details. - The totals of the cart item amounts do not match order amounts.
If total amount is less then $25 then no discount applied and it is working fine.but once it more then it gives error.
Please look into this.

DrByte,
I have v1.3.9f installed, is the PayPal fix implemented at this version, as in an earlier post, you mention that v1.3.9a will solve the problem or do I need to have v1.3.9h installed to correct, other fixes aside.
I was notified by a customer today, that they got this error, when trying to order something.
Regards
James Koretsky
Numerous fixes happened between 1.3.9f and 1.3.9h. You should always be using the latest version. Start there.
