Ok, back in the office and see that I was looking up the wrong stylesheet so the question I now have to ask is, what are the stylesheets in the folder "default_templates" for ?

Its a good job I've ordered the 400 page book !

    Confused

Suggest you begin with doing some reading in the tutorial/FAQ section - Zen Cart uses a template override system and if you mess with the Classic template you will have to redo your changes when you upgrade. Get started right and create a new template.

The stylesheets in the folder "template_default" load if you don't have custom stylesheets overriding those stylesheets.

You'll see how it fits together after reading the tutorial.

Thanks for your replies. I have been looking extensively through the faq but didn't see anything about the default_template stylesheet. There's so much info on this site its easy to miss something ! I received my copy of the owner's manual this morning so I've got some reading to do !

    Cheers

This tutorial is a good start tutorial for template overrides. If you read this first, when you get to the subject in the book, you'll be ahead of the game.

How do I create a new Custom Template?

How do I set up the template overrides?
