    Default Using zencart w/html site

I have a relatively well positioned html site and would like to use zencart for the back end only. Is this possible? If possible I would also like to keep my layout from the html website....I am a little confused by this, bought the book but have not come across this yet.

    Thanks in advance

By styling ZenCart to match a html design it is meant to become and replace you current site. You can use a html landing page if you wish but all shopping, product data and order processing needs to happen in Zen Cart and this is to maintain secure sessions.

Thanks, all shopping taking place in zencart is fine, that is what I want......but I have more that 60 pages in the site, all with the same headers, footers etc.....this is what I would like to continue in zent cart after the link "shop" has been clicked.

At the moment I am using Paypal. I would like to use zen w/paypal pro but keep my current design/ html site.

    Thanks

Keep the design but not the site...

Zen will be your site the pages you have can be incorporated and/or linked to using ezpages and external links from within Zen Cart.

To keep design you skin Zen Cart to match

Depending upon what the other site pages are for, you could leave them as they are and put Zen Cart in a subdirectory. You can incoporate your current Theme, or most of it, into your Zen Cart pages so everything looks the same.

You really don't need to dump your site just to add Zen Cart to it. I have about 5 or 6 sites that use Zen Cart, None of them are entirely shopping cart based, the shopping cart is just one section of the site. You can make the cart look like the rest of your site using CSS and your headers and footers, especially if they are PHP includes. It's not extremely difficult, but it takes a bit of HTML and PHP code knowledge. Also, if you have any dedicated logins on your site (for example, I had one site that showed on the home page whether or not you were logged in to phpBB), they will not work if you try to incorporate any session data from Zen Cart on the same page.
